Remedies for each direction that is not ideal
- Reposition the bed. Turn the bed so the head points towards south or east; even a partial shift improves sleep quality
- Keep the north-east corner clutter-free. Remove heavy furniture and stored items from the north-east corner to allow energy to flow freely
- Switch to cool-toned bedding. Blue or green bed linen helps counterbalance the active fire energy of the south-east zone
- Set the headboard against a solid wall. A firm headboard against an unbroken wall grounds the bed and supports deeper, less disturbed sleep
- Keep mirrors from facing the bed. Move or cover any mirror that reflects the bed at night, as reflected movement is held to unsettle rest
- Keep the bedroom calm and tidy. A clutter-free, minimally furnished bedroom reduces the restless energy associated with the north-west zone
